Ruston and Hornsby model LBU’s first appeared in Cleveland at Kilton Mine in 1952 to replace horses.

By September 1954 the last horses had also left North Skelton, where these photos were taken in 1958.

These photos appear to show a later modification to add a compressed air powered starter to an engine.
Was the locomotive that was outside the Engineers Apprentice School in South Bank in the 1970’s?
